This well-written and fast-paced story of witchcraft is filled with great characters, awesome magic, humor, romance, and lots of intense emotional action.

I really like Aven, the main character in this story. Her friends are more like family and her animal friends are extra special. I'm very happy for the wonderful romance she found with Cal. I enjoy books with bold plots and quirky perspectives and The White Raven by Carrie D. Miller offered more than that. While I'm a bit new to witches other than the garden variety, broomstick-riding women in black pointed hats, this book caught my attention early on and compelled me right through to the end. The premise is unique, as far as I'm concerned, and brought a fresh take on witchcraft and its history. The main character is someone you'll be rooting for all the way to the end.
