When I first read the synopsis of the book, I was intrigued and was looking forward to reading my first indie book. After reading it, I was thrilled by the outcome of the story. Though, it started out confusing until I reached the climax of the story.

Some of the scenes may be dulled, but it gets exciting in between. Though, I have wished it was more exciting, but at least it did during the climax. Also, I have noted there were a couple of mistakes, considering that there a couple of "fluff" wor

A very good plot, based on constellations who want to save their world from invaders. This book is good balance of humor and sarcasm.
I liked the characters, especially Kitty. I found the dialogue delivery fantastic. I enjoyed many scenes. Kitty is innocent but courageous. I can't stop my smile while she asserts -
“Here’s a tip: girls don’t like it when men ask them if they’re pregnant- especially when they clearly aren’t!”
There is much more for every reader. I would love read this series.

F'ing INCREDIBLE! And I totally gift Asher the whole of my heart ❤️

I honestly had no expectations going into this. I was just in the mood for a fantasy escape, and this one caught my eye. Didn't even read the blurb before d/ling it.

So glad that's the way I played it! Because seriously, when this book blew me away, the impact was all the more satisfying for being entirely unanticipated.

The world is fascinating. There's a shit-tonne of action here. It's a wild adventure crammed with twists and tur

Heirs of Power (The Constellation Saga #1) is a fantasy novel which is broad in scope and combines elements of the make-believe with realistic portrayal of the characters. It takes the reader to a beautiful world threatened by an invading army from another planet. The fate of this world and its human population is in the hands of a group of young, second generation Constellations who have to put aside their daily lives and face numerous challenges in order to fight off the invaders. Kay MacLeod ...more

Wow! This book is a really, really pleasant surprise. I will be honest, I am not a fantasy genre reader usually so I began reading with a little trepidation as I was out of my reader comfort zone. The skill of Kay MacLeod's writing and story telling abilities overcame my fantasy genre fears very quickly and I was very soon drawn into the enthralling storyline, clever characterisations and fast-paced action.

I'll admit I couldn't always keep up 100% with every battle scene but this is just me. The

Compelling fantasy for teens and adults alike.

I love the banter between characters, which makes their quest/calling, which is very serious and dangerous, all the more real because they are so believable in their relationship development and emotions.

Definitely a page turner - looking forward to book two.

Not being a true fantasy book fan, I’ll have to say, I greatly enjoyed reading “Heirs of Power.” Kay MacLeod has developed a complex world of social hierarchy, inventive lands, and a threat to the existence of this world. However, it’s her main characters that will grab onto you and keep you reading to find out what they can do and how they will defeat evil. MacLeod’s use of special powers is ingenious and her character’s interactions provide humor and realism to the story. I’ll keep reading, I ...more

Kitty Fairlow was extremely happy. She and her fiance Luke are planning their wedding. Kitty doesn't know everything about her family's history though. She will soon find out she belongs to a very special group of people. Kitty always thought she was an exceptional hunter. She is about to find out there is more to her than that. The Tenebri are on the move and Kitty will be called to fight.

The basic story is terrific. The writing is good and the characters are three dimensional. The author inc

Kay MacLeod’s “Heirs of Power (The Constellation Saga Book 1)” is an enchantingly dark and imaginative read, filled with heroes, villains, and strong female leads. Her writing envelops the reader from the very start of the novel as we follow Kitty Fairlow on a mission to save her world from magical beings poised to conquer it. The medieval style settings and characters harken back to our own medieval days of chivalry, but you’ll find no men kowtowing to women here. These knights in shining armor ...more
