Fifteen years ago, pre-internet and pre-gossipblogs, Nick Hornby’s breakout book High Fidelity nailed the record store nerd/vinyl junkie scene. I loved the book, I loved the movie. How couldn’t I? I have crates of LP’s, coveted bootlegs, picture sleeve 45’s and fanzines, too.

Shelves: fiction
Nick Hornby is back! I put off reading this one for a while for fear of disappointment, but this is Hornby at his best. I read the whole thing in a day because I could hardly put it down. As wonderfully well written as all of Hornby's books, but with more optimism than much of his recent work. Highly recommend this one. ...more
