Achtung: weder Hercule Poirot noch Miss Jane Marple spielen eine Rolle in diesem zweiten Roman der Autorin, der gleichzeitig eine Reihe einläutet, die um Tommy und Tuppence. More like a 3.5 for me, since I enjoyed this one! I haven't read a lot of Agatha Christie novels, but it was fun to see an adventure/mystery story rather than a locked room mystery. The book was definietely helped by the main characters though. Tommy and Tuppence were just fun to read and made me chuckle out loud more than a few times.
The plot itself was fine, I had no major issues with it, but it wasn't the best or memoriable I've ever read. The mystery/twist was one of the more easily guessed ...more

I love Agatha Christie stories but for some reason I've never read any of Tommy and Tuppene stories. I liked this one since Tuppence was a brace and wise as Tommy. They each escaped their individual scrapes with death and solve the mystery when they get back together.

For a 1920s spy thriller, it was a good time. I enjoyed the tempo and all the over-the-top baddies. A fun period piece, for sure.
