Been years since I read this last. I'm amazed at how well it's holding up.
The language and style is a bit old fashioned to my taste, and the part where the current person in focus changes from one to another almost mid-sentence threw me out of the book a few times. ...more

While it has some questionable writing and not the most original plot, Dune makes up for that more than enough by having an incredibly interesting, detailed, and well-thought through universe and scenario, and is full of intriguing ideas on religion, philosophy, ecology, and humanity.
