What Members Thought
Reading Sebald's Austerlitz in March 2016, I became absorbed in his style and sensibility along with his diagrams and pictures. I had that same feeling in Vertigo. The Athenaeum reading group showed me how he crafts such complex and intricate plotting and references. I am torn between wanting to simply lose myself in the dreaminess of his prose and all the work of digging up his references, which enriches the book, but also is the opposite of the mood that gives me the pleasure in reading him.
