There are no words that can describe my sheer love for this book. This was my first time reading a book by Holly Black and I was wary of starting it… but I’m so glad I did!! The moment my eyes fluttered on to the first page I had a strong feeling that this book would do more than impress. The storyline of the book was engaging and I found this book an enjoyable read. Along with the adventure there were moments of romance which made this book all the more thrilling. Fairfold is a village and in the woods lies a glass coffin where a boy with horns lays at rest.

Okay can I just say I loved when Severin was freed and near the end of the book in front of his father and other fair folk declared his love for Ben.... aww that was so sweet and heart grippingly amazing!! I also had a tiny feeling that they would end up with each other but did I expect Jack and Hazel to be with each other…. Okay let’s be honest not really at the start I thought it would have been Hazel and Severin and Ben and Jack but then I started realizing it would make more sense if Ben was with Severin… I’m glad that Hazel and Jack ended up with each other. It broke my heart when I came to the end and remembered that this book wasn’t part of a series… I wish it were… but sadly it isn’t other than that this book was AMAZING!!

This has to be one of the weirdest books I’ve ever read. Fantasy is one of my favorite genres and I was intrigued by the synopsis, but it turned out to not be what I had expected. For one, the story felt like it bounced all over the place with the current storyline and past events being written about with no transition between the two. At one time you’re reading about the present and the next section or chapter could be about the past and you have no idea what time period you’re reading in. I th ...more
