A Christmas Carol has become the quintessential classic of tales for the Christmas season. Most of us know the story whether we have read it or watched one of the many dramatizations. I had the opportunity to read this wonderful novella with the Dickensians group and Oh! what a wonderful experience it was. This is a classic and I can't believe I've never read this before. I loved this book. It was a short read. Every Christmas Eve, after the kids have been put to bed and I'm wrapping the last of the presents, I watch this movie. The musical version starring Albert Finney is the best version in my opinion. So it came as a total surprise that some of my favorite lines from the movie are not actually in this book.
