This book was great
Well....... I didn't love this book....and I didn't hate it. Jacob just didn't seem like a teenage boy to me, he came off more as a girl in my opinion. Nobody seemed to agree with me on that, so I guess it was just me. LOL!:D Anyways I woud still like to read the second book. I am so curious which loop they will be traveling to! And maybe i will be able to connect more with the mc.

I liked the overall story idea... I usually dont like leaving a story unfinished, so I will mostly likely read the next 2 books.
So here is the breakdown...
Really cool main character.
Lacks major development of anyone else in the book.
Interesting and creepy children that you want to learn a lot more about.
Decent story flow.

I found this book abit like Harry Potter, but also quite enjoyed it. Actually I loved this book and it was not what I was expecting.
I really like the photos that were added to the book as well because instead of just imagining what was described in the pictures you can actually see it for your own eyes.
Riggs wrote a truly amazing novel and how he made Jacob go from living a very normal and boring life to his life never being the same again was very well thought of and well written.

Such an unique story, I loved it! Gonna have to buy the next two books in the series as well!

The actual rating I would give it if goodreads had made it possible somehow is: 3.70

So it's safe to say that this ain't really next best thing to Harry Potter, although it does come close to being called that but it needs more refinement. Not saying the content is bad or anything, it's kinda cool, fantastical, draws you in but at the same time there's something lacking which doesn't let you get absorbed in it.
