As a woman, this book was hard to read. As a mother, this book was hard to read. As a human, this book was hard to read. It broke my heart many times over.
I was not sure how I was going to like a book told entirely from the perspective if a 5 year old. I figured this book was not going to be my 'cup of tea' and that's half right. I thought the first half of this book was good but not for me but by the end of it I'm crying tears of joy over little Jack. It's a tragic story but, by the end of it, it's so heart warming. I can picture Jack and his emotions and thoughts so clearly. I don't think I can go on and watch the movie though. That would be to many tears. ...more
