This series is turning into what the late work of Stephen King is becoming: effusive and confusingly turgid. What used to make me turn the pages faster than the speed of light is now "Well, I guess I might try to read a chapter tonight. Nahh, I'll just do homework."
Boring. Boring. Boring. Do I need to say it again or do you catch my drift? Ever since The Final Warning, this ship has been sinking- at a not-steadily-enough pace. Seriously. End the misery now. Please, I'm begging you. My favorite character, Max, has become the epitome of a teen-aged girl: even though she stresses, several times, that she is nothing like us humans. Sorry, sweetheart, but all this complaining and whining is sounding quite familiar.

Where's the excitement and passion and dumpster diving and free-falling and heart-pounding adventures I paid $13.99 for in the past? Instead, we're given heaping helpings of "My mom is soooo awesome! She bakes cookies that are homemade!" and "Here's this guy from some book you'd like to forget, he wants us to... *begin spoiler alert* make babies, oh I hate Dylan, now I want him." *end spoiler alert*
I understand we women are famous for changing our minds, our emotions, but this is borderline asylum-worthy. I'm starting to believe Max has multiple personality disorder. One minute she's hunky-dory, eating cookies and moping about Fang, the next she's punching Dylan in the face (albeit not good enough to give him brain damage, unfortunately).

Honestly, I don't mind Dylan that much. He sounds like a much more attractive version of Iggy appearance-wise, and maybe he isn't a creep, but I can't stop feeling that JP is going to drop a bomb somewhere and Dylan is going to turn into the bad guy... along with all of the other ones we've been trying to keep up with for the past six books.
I say JP goes the path I was thinking of early on when we first met Dylan and turn him into the reincarnation of... *cue 80s horror music* Ari! Remember, the Ari that wanted to practically make out with his half-sister and take her away on a deserted island? I miss that Ari. He was what made these books borderline Law & Order: SVU-worthy and gave them some actual depth. Not this Twilight crap JP's been feeding us ever since TFW.

At the end of the series, though, we all know what will happen. It'll just take another year and more angry fan-letters for us to find out for sure. ...more

Another incredible addition to an incredible (and very long might i add) series!!! I loved it, but I was really confused about that ending...So did Angel die or not??? From the whole Epilogue I'm guessing she didnt, but then what exactly did she mean by "This is my fault...all of this is my fault...oh Max...I'm sorry. I'm sorry" (pg.291)??? I dont get, but i hope that 'The End of Maximum Ride' will answer my questions and not kill off all the characters...but ill have to wait a whole year, ugh.. ...more

I definatly didn't like this book as much as the rest of the series! There was to much whinging going on from Max! Fang or Dylan? Well, you should know in your heart who you want!
Personaly, I say Fang! But that doesn't matter :) ...more

I did enjoy this book but it was really hard to let go. This book is a total Cliff hanger. But I really CANNOT wait until The End Of Maximum Ride comes out.

I'm sorry, but Fax is over people. Make way for Dylan.

...and damn....what an ending.

I know people thing this book was effed, but the only one I hate out of all the MR books was the fourth one...

Anyway, this was great and I'm so pumped to see what happens next.
