The Exiled Queen is a solid second installment to the Seven Realms series. It has all the elements that made the first book, The Demon King, so good: great writing, fantastic world-building, developed characters, twists, and a slow but steady pace. The beginning is a little slower than usual, but once the action picks up, it leaves you on the egde of your seat.

Cinda Williams Chima once again delivers an amazing YA Fantasy book. Still t

I'm just enthralled into this series. I'm enjoying it a lot. Love all the secrets that the characters yet to figure out and us as the reader there's a few wondering eye characters that keep you saying I don't trust her or him

Raisa the princess still on the run after book 1. Trying to keep secret to whom she really is while getting a education and adventure from the Queen and High Wizard eyes.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, but this book was infinitely better than the last! I am quite eager to start the third book of this series!

The world building only continues to shine in this follow up to The Demon King. The world is very imaginative. It has many different countries and cultures that are easy to compare to those of our world, though with their own flair and individuality. I liked the deeper look

I loved this one! Definitely better than the first one. I'm always a sucker for school settings and I liked bouncing between the two different schools. I loved all of our characters in this one. Cinda Williams Chima really excels at writing teenagers really well I think. Sometimes they'd make bone headed decisions but they felt realistic for their age and written in a way that as an adult I was just too annoyed by their teenage behavior to enjoy the story. The ending of this one has me aching to ...more

This book was so much better than Book 2. Unlike Book 2 where it started slow (I was about to abandon it until I reached Chapter 13) Book two totally peaked my interest from the first Chapter. The writing was great. The storyline captivating. There was not a dull moment in this book.

4.5 stars. I thought The Exiled Queen was even better than The Demon King. In this book Raisa is running from an arranged marriage and Han is starting his schooling at the magic school in Oden's Ford. Of course that's precisely where Raisa decides to run to and hide.

I grew to like Raisa more and really enjoyed reading about her time spent as the magic school with both Han and her friend Amon who is destined to become her personal guard. There is a little bit of a love triangle here, but I didn'

This series gets 5 stars for me, if only for the fact that it's one of the few that excites me to pick up the sequels right after I'm finished reading one book.
There are not that many unique ideas in here, but I like the characters a lot and it's just fun to plow through and gets me reading. Also it has one of my favorite tropes in it, a (magical) school setting. I like that the plot moves forward with ease and isn't stuck on one thing for ages. The pacing feels right, while not being too formu
