“Life is amazingly tenacious.”

Science fiction isn’t usually my thing. There are exceptions; I loved Dark Matter and the Red Rising series and the Illuminae Files. Ender’s Game remains one of my favorite books from my childhood. Amazing! Since I'm a big science nerd this book was just exactly what I wanted from a SciFi story. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong, and it was very entertaining to read how Mark solved the problems as they happened. ...more

Overall I liked the story. It was fast-paced and had lots of interesting topics and solutions that the main character came up with to survive his ordeal. The ending of the novel was also great I thought. That said, the style of writing bothered me - I'm a stickler for realism in the way people converse and much of the way people talked to each other in this novel was overly juvenile and made me cringe.
