12/12/2022: Reread on audiobook!
Wow! So many things happened in this book. And most of them good. This was a long book but hard to put down once you get into it. I have to say that Manon is my favorite character because I never know what she’s going to do. I do like the darker characters. I’m looking forward to the next one.

If book 3 is where this series hits its stride, book 4 is where it goes BOOM! My favorite storyline is Manon & Elide, but I also like Lysandra and Aedon--it's nice to get to know a bunch of new characters and they're all fun. Even Lorkan. There are so many great sequences in this book, so many great reveals, and at least a few scenes I'd been waiting for since book 1 that had me punching the air.
