I'm sorry. I was disappointed. I'm not giving up on the series, in fact I am currently reading the next book, but I was disappointed.
I thought the first 200 pages were very slow. Yes, the last chapter is amazing. Towards the end the pace really picked up and the plot got tight and interesting and that last page, wow. But, it's hard not to be disappointed when the first 200 pages are that slow.

Uhhh, what to rate this. I kind of don't want to give it a perfect 5, but in comparison to other books I gave 5 stars to I'll have to do it.
I really enjoy the series, and this book more than book 1. The characters are great, I'm Team Chaol all the way :D It was just so fun to read, kept me reading all day long. I don't know if I'm such a big fan of the way this is going to continue in the next book, but I'll let Sarah J. Maas surprise me with awesomeness (hopefully!) ...more

I liked the first one more. This one is a lot more bloody, and not like, interestingly bloody. People just die a lot. Chock full of bad decisions and people being stupid. I hate reading about people being stupid.
Also my favorite character died. What the hell!

This book was a lot better than theThe first one. Celena must discover that horrible secret of we have a king is getting its power.
I liked this as much as the first. I think this book moved the plot forward nicely. There was no second book syndrome. I would say I think this story is getting a little too complex for a second book. A lot happened and was explained in the second, more than the first.
4.5 Stars. Better than the first book. Hoping it keeps getting better.
