I'm sorry. I was disappointed. I'm not giving up on the series, in fact I am currently reading the next book, but I was disappointed.

I thought the first 200 pages were very slow. Yes, the last chapter is amazing. Towards the end the pace really picked up and the plot got tight and interesting and that last page, wow. But, it's hard not to be disappointed when the first 200 pages are that slow.

It wasn't all disappointment. I really enjoyed finding out more about the world Sarah J. Maas is buildin

Uhhh, what to rate this. I kind of don't want to give it a perfect 5, but in comparison to other books I gave 5 stars to I'll have to do it.

I really enjoy the series, and this book more than book 1. The characters are great, I'm Team Chaol all the way :D It was just so fun to read, kept me reading all day long. I don't know if I'm such a big fan of the way this is going to continue in the next book, but I'll let Sarah J. Maas surprise me with awesomeness (hopefully!)

Hmmm. My first book of 2018 and I'm a bit disappointed. I liked it. There were parts I really liked, but there were also things I didn't like at all. I gave the first book in this series 2 stars. It was just ok for me and I really disliked the audio version. However, this is an author I really like. I LOVE her other series. A Court of Mist and Fury is one of my favorite books in this genre! I read so many rave reviews of this and had to at least give it a try. It was better than the first book. ...more

If you had asked me if I was going to read book three of this series I would have said no halfway through the story. Then the second half happened. It was so much better than the first half it was like it wasn't even the same book. This one is more like a 3.5 and I will give the next one a chance. ...more
