An original and different style novel that is an easy recommendation to anyone. It's important that people consider how difficult it is for those with Autism to relate to people around them and the barriers it creates with their communication skills. This book is captivating and highly enjoyable, but there are few things about it that bother me.
I worked with autistic people for an entire summer at a summer camp. Not one of them was this capable at this many activities. This kid is more like a genius child with a social disorder than a kid with autism.
He has an eidetic memory and he's a genius mathematician. Because of the eidetic memory he would score incredibly high on any test, ever. He would have had no trouble writing a book (despite the ...more

Another library book club bust. Whew, this was not my favorite book. What an exhausting read and main character. I am typically very much a fan of quirky characters but this was just too much for me.
