I read this back in 2013 and wrote a review that has mysteriously disappeared. Will try to recreate:
Rated 5 stars and is on my favorite shelf. I knew little of Autism before reading this novel and wasn't sure what to expect. In my opinion the author has written a novel that compares to classics such as " To Kill a Mockingbird".

An original and different style novel that is an easy recommendation to anyone. It's important that people consider how difficult it is for those with Autism to relate to people around them and the barriers it creates with their communication skills. Sadly this can get written off by strangers who witness it as simply being awkward or different. The protagonist, Christopher Boone, struggles with Asperger's Syndrome. This book is captivating and highly enjoyable, but there are few things about it that bother me.
I worked with autistic people for an entire summer at a summer camp. Not one of them was this capable at this many activities. This kid is more like a genius child with a social disorder than a kid with autism.
He has an eidetic memory and he's a genius mathematician. Because of the eidetic memory he would score incredibly high on any test, ever. He would have had no trouble writing a book (despite the ...more
