This has to be one of the best nonfiction books I’ve ever read. This book narrates the Osage tribe in Oklahoma in the 1900s when there is a vast amount of Osage citizens murdered suspiciously. This was so well written that it reads like fiction but no this was all REAL. This all happened and it is so tragic because literally everyone Osage in present time had a family member affected by. Will Patton is the narrator I didn’t know my life needed! I listened to the audiobook and that man can read me anything any day, who knew? Great book about the Osage tribe murders that I never heard about, even going to school in the southwest. Great read/listen to for anyone interested in this part of history!
This book was so good. Really insane story about a gruesome period of conspired murders of countless “oil-rich” Osage tribe members in Oklahoma, that ended up becoming one of the first big FBI homicide investigations. If you’re in the mood for a non-fiction, I highly recommend.
This. Was. Fascinating. I studied history in college and never heard a word about this shameful chapter of American history. I found Grann's writing to be extremely well researched, yet accessible. Highly recommend.
