This was a really great memoir. We don't often see what recovery from abuse looks like on the other side, in part because we're often quick to judge someone for telling the truth if that truth is at all unpleasant. But honesty is important to healing and it's nearly impossible to move on without it. I think we tend to emphasize the wrong parts of the healing message and miss the broader context.
