I was tempted by the big name of Virginia Woolf who became a literary reference and was given five stars by reviewers, critics and professors of English literature. I have read their review and I have prepared my unskilled literacy to read this book.
The book was first published in 1927, the story itself about the perspective of life inside family. It was not narrated from the beginning to the end, no events being made up. Only thought of some characters, leaping from Mr. Ramsay, a philosopher fa I was tempted by the big name of Virginia Woolf who became a literary reference and was given five stars by reviewers, critics and professors of English literature. I have read their review and I have prepared my unskilled literacy to read this book.
The book was first published in 1927, the story itself about the perspective of life inside family. It was not narrated from the beginning to the end, no events being made up. Only thought of some characters, leaping from Mr. Ramsay, a philosopher father, then Mrs. Ramsay, a mother 'with all her wit, and ten thousand times better in every way than the father', said James the son. And Lili the painter, William Bankes, old friend of Ramsay, Charles Tansley, a youngman who admire Mr. Ramsay as his teacher, and other friends of the family. Set in a summer house in Cornwall near to the lighthouse stand erect in an island. It's a difficult book and not an entertaining one, feels like giving up and stop reading it. The plot narrated as emotions of character which is going nowhere, and the time also is like suspended. I'm sorry, this book is not for me.

No, wait...I have to think again. It was too soon to conclude in my review . I had to reread while pondering the mental side of Virginia Woolf and her death. Why ? There are events that seem to be reflected in the person of my daughter. It was just happened right after I finished my first reading, this month of January. My girl suddenly jumped out of the car driven by her boyfriend, her head banged to the asphalt , there was a wound ripping her scalp, two front teeth broken and cuts all over the front face. Immediately taken to the emergency room, the first word she said to me, "It's Ladybird papa."
For some reason this prompted me to understand the writing of Virginia Woolf, because I felt my daughter has a similar imagination, only on the mental part and her ability to be creative. Even though my girl as a film editor has only been working for a multi-media company for two years. But my fear, and unbearable sadness knowing my daughter hurt herself . For me I might be treated by better understanding how the work of Woolf in her writing. And that makes me more able to chew the words, sentences, phrases, the whole story of this book.

Sorry, maybe the review that I wrote this time strays far from context. But once again I was a little wrong in reviewing Virginia Woolf's work, and now I have to give it a far better rating than before.
because this book tells more about the deep thoughts of a wife, a husband, children, a friend. who try to be good with each of their perspectives even though they are captured differently, especially for those who are young, even though the age is not free from mistakes. That thought is the thought of mind jumping like a naughty monkey that does not stop jumping. ...more
