Was this written with the intention of being a Beauty and the Beast retelling or did it just end up being labeled that way because it was so similar? I honestly don't see it advertised as such anywhere but see people calling it that in reviews. I certainly didn't know before starting. It was almost half way through that my dumb ass was like, "heeeey, wait a minute...."

I was so excited for this series as I loved this book, I wanted to keep reading to find out what happens and had to find out if true love conquers all. This book was wonderful, maybe some cliches and maybe some silly unbelievable to it, some annoyances with the characters and a couple choices that were made that dropped it to 4 stars, but overall I loved this book.

Eh, 3.5. Enjoyable enough, I’ll probably listen to the rest, but I don’t think I’d recommend the book to anyone. This opinion may change as I continue through the series, but right now, the best I can say was enjoyable enough, not a waste of time, but kind of forgettable
