This is one of those books that's bad, without being offensively bad. Like it's totally readable and I don't hate that I read it because I'm like well, that was kind of entertaining.

Also, I think Sarah J. Maas might be a furry and I'm here for it, but I really could have done without all the purring. There were definitely certain things that happened way too many times like characters clicking their tongues. Eventually I was like omg, an evil fairy needs to show up and start removing tongues, ri

I borrowed this audiobook from the library. I was happy to find such a popular book available!

I listened to the whole book and enjoyed the story but there were some things I did not enjoy.

For starters, the main character’s behavior was irritating. She was willing to take huge risks for her family who we were told treated her poorly. She wasn’t grateful for help or kindness she received. She got incensed over stupid things and was indifferent to things that should have really been at the front

So I went in completely blind to what the story would be and with some pretty high expectations. This book totally lived up to it. This was one of those books where I didn't want to go back to my real life when I finished. I just wanted to read the next one and the next one and just live in the world of Prythian with these cha ...more

There was nothing compelling about Feyre to get me to root for her; she seemed pretty blah and vanilla and boring. I finished the book (after setting it aside out of boredom ) to find out what would happen with Rhysand, whom the author wrote so very, very well. I wish there was more of his story and less of Feyre and Tamlin. And I found myself wishing for more of Lucien's backstory.

Could not figure out why Tamlin and Feyre were a couple, or what drew them to each other.

The action that took pla
