I was really dubious about liking this book because everyone was raving about it. I saw it randomly at the library and decided to pick it up, but didn’t have high expectations. But I couldn’t put it down! Some aspects were a bit trope, but I didn’t find myself caring. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series! I have seen it compared to twilight/hunger games but while there were a couple aspects I could see of those, it wasn’t enough that I thought it ridiculous or worth worrying ab

Might be spoilers ahead. Now, I didn't finish this book, so I'm not spoiling any end, but there might be some information here that spoils the story for you. Read on on your own risk.

She chooses to live.

It was ok. No wild enthusiasm from me, and there were times when I felt my intelligence was being insulted by being told the SAME THING over and over. I'm a native English speaker, and not dumb. I get it, already, and I'm sure all the other readers did too. Strangely, Feyre didn't always get it. Even after being told multiple times that something was horrendously dangerous, life-threatening, beyond her mortal powers etc, she'd go and do it anyway. Good for her. I'll always back strong women char

I expected something more complex from the author of the Throne of Glass series. It got interesting about 70% in but I was bored until then and it took me three attempts at reading it to get that far. I’m sure in time I’ll read the others in this series because I’ve heard they get better and I need to clear them from my TBR.
