An expertly written gothic novel which creates an immersive sense of being trapped in the gloom, rot, and endless devouring with the main character Noemi. The story keeps a thrilling pace while also weaving themes of race and gender throughout the story in a poignant way.

No spoilers here, but I have to say that the best thing about this book is the main character.
It's about TIME I read a horror book... or a book in general... where the woman in it doesn't make stupid moves, stupid decision, or acts... stupid. She stands her ground and protects people. NICE!

Fun book but at times a bit gross... but it is horror story! It does not feel Mexican to me... could be anywhere really as story is just a horror story waiting for a movie or netflix series script. But nice they made it international but maybe Mexico would not want to claim it!
