Absolutely loved it. I know I read this in high school because I remembered the "lettuce train" but it felt like a new story to me this time around. I'm not sure how much of my fondness for the book is due to my being a westerner, and to the voice being a truly western voice (so it feels very homey to me, living in the east as I do); or to the fact that my philosophy lines up so much with the author's (which might again be a western thing). Epic kind of story spanning the lives of two generations. Story about brothers. Powerful ideas in it. A lot of people told me this was one of their favorite books, not mine but I enjoyed reading it.
