I hadn't read this since college, but it was still excellent! The writing is gorgeous, the perspective is unique, and I can't believe it was written by a black women in the '30s. There were a few parts in the middle that seemed a little slow to me, but the incredible narration by Ruby Dee secured that questionable 5th star! ...more
