This book will take you to a world full of unreal wonders, yet so vivid. Some say it is too long, but I say the descriptive tale helps to imagine more clearly and delve into the amazing storyline. No characters could I ignore, they were unique in their own way. This type of book is very rare, so I'm glad I have read it.

Those who are not sure whether to read it, I suggest watching the movies first, and then dive into the world of Hobbits, Elves, Dwarfs, Men, the evil and the powerful Ring.

I grew up in a family where Lord of the Rings and Ender's Game featured in road trip discussions, discussing Messianic figures, ethics, blah blah blah. Obviously I was the only one who didn't read those books until adulthood so I would stare out the window and not participate in the passionate discussion. My immediate and extended family discusses and converses to the point of pathology (to my husband's dismay), but since he knew that before he married me, I am not as sympathetic as perhaps ...more
