“It is nothing to die; it is dreadful not to live.”

I enjoyed this book so much more than I ever thought I would, even with the tangents that Hugo likes to go on. I actually got used to them and they added to the story and history of this book. Those do make this book a hefty and lengthy read!

I had no idea what I was embarking on before I entered this journey and that was the best part. This wasn’t a plot oriented book, but followed on with the main character, Jean Valjean, throughout his life,
