I don't really know why I couldn't put this book down and why I thought it was so good. I didn't really like any of the characters, nor did I like the way they lived. I think I kept waiting for someone in the book (aside from John Savage) to realize that they didn't need to live that way--that you could be an individual instead of being like everyone else. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is not a text that lacks reviews or opinions, and attempting to contribute to the (often-polarizing) dialogue is a bit daunting. But I did finish the book, and I do have some impressions that I feel warrant sharing.

I wanted to rate it 3 stars, because I didn't like a lot of it for all the reasons I'm not a sci-fi fan. Not least that it's an awfully cynical worldview. That said, parts of it have really stuck with me, so I have to say it's a fairly powerful book.
