I love this book! The story is beautifully written. And with the chapters that described me at the circus, I felt like I was there experiencing all of the magic in those tents.
I do have to admit that I wasn't 100% on board at the beginning. It took me a little time to get into it, but once the story got going I couldn't put this book down.

Just loved this so much. I wish it was longer it was so wonderful. If a book could be food, this one would be cake. Read this!

Like many of the books I've read this year, this was a sloooooooow, character-driven story. I listened to this book, and Jim Dale was, as always, impeccable.
Its magic is not showy or flashy, but rather, like a really impeccable dark chocolate. You savor and enjoy because once it's gone, it's gone.
Read this if you like: Robin Hobb, Katherine Arden, Naomi Novik. ...more
