Here's how the book read: boring.....boring....boring....action and adventure!....boring....boring....intrigue and revolution!....boring....boring...boring....brilliant ending. If you can muscle through all of the boring wordiness, it's a great story. Much like Moby Dick, if you take out all the unnecessary wordiness and non-plot material, the story itself would be fantastic....and also 20 pages long.
