Is this series mostly all hype? Perhaps. Is it excellent writing? Nope.
What is it?
It is a fabulous piece of entertainment. We want to be entertained and to turn our brains off. We want to have a clear good guy and a clear bad guy that we can hate. We don’t want to read something that makes us think. Let’s all escape and imagine the coolest world where magic exists. A school system we could actually support! :-D

I have always loved the Harry Potter books, but the illustrated editions take it to another level. I can't even put into words how much I loved reading this, and I wish all the books I read could have gorgeous illustrations like this. ...more
