this book was very cute and nerdy at the same time. I love the sisterly love between the two twins and the overall love in the story with Levi and Cath. I will make a review later talking about what I liked and what I disliked but I'm probably going to give this a 4.5 star rating- I can't believe it took me 4 years to read this damn book I've been waiting to read it for a very long time!

Hiya Guys- Welcome to the Nether! today I'm going to be talking about Fa this book was very cute and nerdy at the same time. I love the sisterly love between the two twins and the overall love in the story with Levi and Cath. I will make a review later talking about what I liked and what I disliked but I'm probably going to give this a 4.5 star rating- I can't believe it took me 4 years to read this damn book I've been waiting to read it for a very long time!

ACTUAL REVIEW SPOILERS AHEAD PROBABLY:

Hiya Guys- Welcome to the Nether! today I'm going to be talking about Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. as I said before this book is very adorable and very relatable for many of us who love fandoms or are obsessed with characters from fictional pieces. it took me a very long time to get to this book and I think it's because it's very overhyped- it was really hard for me to pick it up just because of that factor and everybody was talking about when it first came out in 2012- but I shouldn't have let that get to me really just because everybody loves it doesn't mean I'm going to hate it. so I really enjoyed this book and I'm going to get into that further on why I like it but let me just get in some plot.

Cather is a regular girl with regular problems- on top of being very antisocial she loves to write fanfiction, which is like this fictional world that Rainbow Rowell made called Simon Snow. this fantasy series seems to be like Harry Potter in the way but she does mention Harry Potter in the book so I guess it's kind of sort of like a Harry Potter. you find out that the main character has a very big fan base for this fanfiction that she makes about these two main characters in the series and she doesn't really want a real life world to live in. on top of going to college as a freshman and having problems with her twin sister Wren, really she's just trying to pull herself through being in college. then she needs her roommate and her ex boyfriend Levi, who invent really becomes her actual boyfriend. Levi on top of working at Starbucks is a overall country boy which all of us would want to bang. story is almost like a coming-of-age story mixed with family issues and of course romance. the whole story is about Cath growing and developing into a more mature person, and I feel like we can learn a lot from her just from reading this novel.

Point 1: I always talk about the romance first so let's talk about the romance. this is actually very well written in terms of the romance it doesn't start right away and you feel like there's a period of time before they start dating. Levi and Cath are great together in terms of the relationship, and then Cath finally realizes the differences between a fake romance in a real one. there is a lot of scenes in the book with them just being cute which I actually really adore and I was rooting for them. we also had their problems throughout the book which I am very happy that rainbow trout actually made it so they actually had problems with their relationship at the beginning- because no one is perfect of course. I love when Cath read to Levi- it made you want to be there with them will not be a third wheel of course but you you know you want to be Cath. overall I had no problems with the relationship in this book A Plus on your part Rainbow Rowell.

Point 2: I really liked the nerdy aspects of the culture in the book as well. it was very engaging for it to be that way, and of course it was very relatable to the bookish community because we are the ones who make the fanfiction. I feel like I should have read Carry On before I read this book just because I did not understand some of the references that was making when she was talking about Simon and Baz. I do plan on reading the book in the future just so I have a better understanding of why Cath love that book so much- better yet I would love a sequel. This is why-

Point 3: the issues in this novel were not because of the romance or the nerdy references or anything like that it was mostly because of the unsolved issues in the novel. Cath's sister is clearly an alcoholic yeah it's not solved in the novel. Cath and her mother don't have a happy ending that's not sold in the novel either. It is clear that her father has depression or some type of disorder from the impact of his wife leaving him yet that's not really solved. I would love to know what grade she got on that stupid final of hers too which she never established by the end of the novel. I would love a sequel to this novel but I already know that she's not going to make one- she may Carry On a couple years ago but it's not a sequel to Fangirl it's more like a spin-off of it. I would love to see more development within the story.

Point 4: even though this book was 450 pages long I feel like she could have had more development within the story itself and this is why. I would love to learn about Levi's family more you don't even meet any of his family in the novel. like I said before up above I feel like there's a lot of things unsolved in the novel- and by the end I really thought that the author with no cash like I thought that the professor would be the author- like a plot twist at the end because she kept saying that she didn't know the author of the novel she kept making fanfiction about. that's just my suggestion that would put me at a standstill like oh that's awesome! other than that I believe that this book was very charming in parts it was very sad in parts - and it was an overall very fluffy contemporary novel that I was looking for. I feel like I'm going to read contemporary between maybe a lot of high fantasy novels because I need a little bit of a break between all the magic and stuff.

In Conclusion I am going to give Fangirl a 4.5 star rating- I really enjoyed this novel for why it was. like I said above I wish it was a little bit more developed within its issues I feel like there's so much room for a sequel because she can also make it like she's growing up and maybe she's having issues with Levi's family on top of having all these other issues with her own family. it could be for an amazing story but this book was made in 2012 I highly doubt in 2016 she would say another novel 4 Fangirl, but a person can dream can't I??? Hahah I will see you next time I read a book guys!

I just finished reading this like 30 seconds ago and I am SO SAD there's no more. I turned the page to the acknowledgment and was completely shocked! I loooooooved Fangirl so much I just didn't want it to end. When the last few pages started to get thinner and thinner my head was going, "nooooo it can't be that close to over already!" This was my first Rainbow Rowell book and it has lived up to all its hype and glory. I went in without the high expectations of some people and was blown away.

Well, I wasn't overly impressed with this book, though I found no trouble finishing it. Cath was an antisocial, quirky and obsessed fangirl which made me like her character even more. Cath reminded me a lot of myself and I could easily relate to a lot of what she would think, say or do.

Fangirl was the first Rainbow Rowell book I read, and it was the reason I fell in love with her writing. Before I read this I was more excited to read Eleanor and Park but now that I have read both of them I have to say that I liked this one better. There were some points in the book where some of the characters became a bit annoying but it was only brief.
