“You do not write your life with words...You write it with actions. What you think is not important. It is only important what you do.”

If I could give it 6 stars , I would given it them all !.

This book is without doubt a masterpiece, I didn't expect at the beginning of the book feel so touched with the history but how not be.

I think unfortunately most people have or had in our lives a person we love sick with cancer, because unfortunately today is a very common disease, in my cas

Wow, this book is utter perfection, it's beautiful, it's emotional, and now I need to convince all of you how much you need to read it!
I'm giving it a full 5 star rating, no regrets either.

A Monster Calls was such a heart warming read and it was so unique at the same time. It's very difficult to review a book like this without giving the entire thing away so this review is going to be short.

Conor doesn't have many friends, especially after her mother got ill, he didn't want to be pitied by other so he mostly stayed alone. But when the monster comes, he demands an answer from him, he wants the truth. Will Conor finally accept the truth and tel

God damn it, up until 3/4th in, I thought this was going to be my first 5-starred book of the year. Beautiful as it is, I just wasn't touched by it as I thought I would be. *dead eyed cow stare*

Many thanks to Debbie for sending me this book almost two years ago now. I made sure to eat lots of peanut butter and chocolate during my reading sessions <3.

I had a hard time trying to gather my thoughts to write a full review for this book because I think it’s a very complex story with so much depth that would be difficult to convey in a review. When my sister asked me about it, all I could tell her was ‘just read it!’. Conor is such a great character, wise beyond his year but at times, he’ll say or do something that makes you realize how young he is. I really enjoyed reading about the monster and his ta

It's not very often that a book has me crying at the end. This book was completely unexpected. I knew it was going to be good because I haven't seen a bad review about it. However I didn't read the blurb before I started and was caught by surprise about the plot. A Monster Calls is a fast paced read; I think it could be read in two hours or less. It follows a young man and the monster that comes to him every night. I’m not sure what I can tell you about this book that won’t be a spoiler. It’s su ...more

You know a book is amazing when it rips your heart out. This book tells the story of a 13 year old dealing with his emotions and fears regarding his mothers cancer. It's an accurate portrayal of dealing with fear, and grief. I think everyone should read this book. To often books don't portrayal illnesses and how they affect others accurately, this one how ever does it masterfully. ...more
