I was trying to explain how I felt about this book to my husband this morning and really had a hard time...very conflicting emotions. I listened to it (audible.com) and the narrator did a great job of catching the horror, suspense, depression, agony, and caring of the story. This was at the same a very simple and complex story that seemed to never want to end. I will wait a year or so and then I will probably have to read this one again.
I really thought I hated this book at first, or was going to hate this book, but it sucked me in. The imagery and prose were absolutely heart rending.
