A fun, quick mystery where the kid actually does all of the sleuthing. Sammy is just starting 7th grade, but there's nothing that would make the story inappropriate for a younger audience - the only crime is theft with some very minimal violence.

7th grader Samantha lives illegally with her grandmother in an apartment for seniors, and whiles away the time looking out the window with binoculars. Gazing at the hotel across the street, she witnesses a robbery, and the robber spots her, too.

This was a fun read. Most children's detective stories are implausible, but this one was rather believable.
