Finally got to this one….oh, how I love a good space story, and no one does it like Andy Weir. He’s so incredibly creative, and while I’m not nearly smart enough to know how accurate his science is, it sure does sound good. Thoroughly enjoyed this.

Just very, very satisfying. Easy read but has enough content and concepts to be more filling than popcorn. Nothing will really challenge you because it is so tied up neatly but it's a ride beginning to end. Highly recommend for a good time. ...more

This took longer to get going than the Martian (guy wakes up with amnesia, and it takes a while for him to remember where he is and what he is doing) but it had much better character development. I loved (view spoiler).. ...more

A page-turner, for sure.

I enjoyed the “regular-Joe” quality of the main character juxtaposed with the super-smart scientists in the flash backs. Also, the author admirably wove the backstory into the present day narration.

Lots of thought-provoking and challenging theories about “alien”life.

But, does anyone really understand all of the nerdy, yet interesting science?
