A well written story about some courageous women and men who fought for the French resistance. The horrors of war, the effects on civilians and children are portrayed in this story of two sisters who cannot bear to see what is happening to their country and its people.
I try to avoid WW2 books, but this was highly recommended. It was very well written, and I liked the focus on the women of the French resistance.
I just loved this book - - -and I actually started out thinking it was going to be just another World War II book! A wonderful account of how two very different sisters went about not only surviving, but becoming part of the Resistance Effort in WW II France.
What a painful delight this book is. Heartbreaking and full of hope it’s a reminder to appreciate the love in our lives and a tribute to the women who change history.
