Meh. I probably wouldn’t pick up the next book in the series.
A group of teens compete against each other to stay alive in the trials. That's pretty much where the similarity to Hunger Games ends. This is a world of haves and have nots - not just economically but physically. The haves are the Elites who have supernatural powers of some kind or another. The have nots are just Ordinary - no powers. But the king has convinced his people that the ordinaries carry disease that will diminish the powers of the Elites and so they must be banished or killed.
