I read this book just 5 years before the author committed suicide. Having dealt with depression for a huge part of my life there are parts of the book that really spoke to me. It feels weird to say that I enjoyed the book but it wasn't unenjoyable so I'm not really sure how to say it. I would definitely caution those who have depression or have been, or may currently be, suicidal that this book may be a trigger. Possibly this book could be important to teenagers struggling with depression. As an adult reader, it came off as a little glib and shallow, although I did feel for the main character.
