I loved this book as a child, but on re-reading it, it was a bit like meeting up with a dear old friend and finding they will only talk about their cat and their obsession with French cheeses. Or maybe, like going home and finding your room filled with sewing machines, chintzy pictures, and boxes of your old photo albums of Lynda Carter pictures.

I enjoyed this book well enough, but I was satisfied with reading just one. There was nothing in it to make me want to read more of the "time quartet."
