I read this book in a few hours, and cried about 11 times. Beautiful writing, a great story about mother/daughter relationships, and the strength found in true friendships.

I started this book and instantly became drawn in by her writing style. I got about three chapters into it and was enjoying it very much, but was overwhelmed by the need to pass it along to a dear friend who, like the protagonist, lost her mom at an early age and was raised by a mean and boorish lout who did not appreciate her true inner beauty. I might get back to it later.
