Thirteen year old Arthur throws a brick at an old man collecting trash on the street. He is sentenced to help his victim with the project he is working on. For four hours every Saturday Arthur has to collect The Seven Most Important Things for James Hampton. Those things are: lightbulbs, foil, mirrors, pieces of wood, glass bottles, coffee cans, and cardboard.

A moving story of loss and redemption, friendship and finding your way in the world. Arthur, in a moment of anger, throws a brick at the 'Junk Man' and is sentenced to 120 of service helping Mr. Hampton on the mysterious project he is building in a garage. How many juvenile fiction books reference outsider art? Hand this to kids who like moving, contemporary, realistic fiction- fans of R.J. Pollacio, Wendy Mass, Sharon Draper, Sharon Draper, etc.
