Quick YA read about a girl who is ostracized after she calls the police from a party. She begins high school as a pariah, barely speaking to anyone and keeping the secret of what happened that night that led her to call the police. The writing is good, sharp and funny in some parts, painful in others. I'd definitely read more by this author.

A very powerful story.
I hate books like these. I have all these wonderful intentions of turning out the light and getting to sleep at a reasonable hour, but I keep turning the pages.

Intense, often lovely, sometimes brutal, occasionally just a bit precious. Definitely deserving of its place on so many reading lists.
Heartbreaking and yet predictable. Perhaps I have read too much of this genre?
