A very fun book, especially for bookworms. I loved hearing about the library, and the games and puzzles were very clever. I really loved that there were lists of the books mentioned at the back!

Not sure if you'll like this book? Well, the back of the book tells you everything you need to know in one quote: "In this cross between Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and A Night in the Museum ...". Twelve kids go into a state-of-the-art library, built by the enigmatic and eccentric Mr. Lemoncello, and try to solve puzzles to find a secret exit. He (or she!) who does wins an extraordinary prize.

Straight up, this book is a lot of fun. It starts fast and maintains its pace throughout the story

This came recommended to me by both an eleven-year-old friend and my adult sister, so I was surprised that I didn't like it that much. Maybe because I am a librarian and am sick of all the flashy things libraries do to try to look modern and exciting that take energy and money away from our (already underfunded) mission, I thought the technology in this library was over-the-top and ridiculous. I got this for my 8-year-old after finding it on a list of good books for elementary kids who read far above their grade level. He loved it, and recommended I read it. I didn't really get in to it until the game started, but then I didn't want to put it down. It was a fun mystery book. ...more
