I read this initially awhile ago. But I finished my library books and needed something to read- we have a copy here at home. Let’s see if I still give it 4 stars this go round. So far, so good

So I have finally read one of Kingsolver's novels, and I must admit, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'm sure the excellent job done by the reader in this audio cassette helped, but I fell in love with the characters by the end of the first disc. Kingsolver has a unique way of making you wonder, right along with her characters, how this story is going to all turn out, and it makes for an incredible story with very good characterizations. Highly recommended.

This book is another one that I read over and over again. I read it first when I was in high school and it had a really profound influence on me and my understanding of what freedom is, and what genuineness is, and what love is, and what community is... it's just a great, great book.
