We decided on this "beach book" for book club after a string of really depressing books (FYI, there is some depressing stuff in here anyway!). It wasn't high literature, but it was entertaining and the characters were interesting.

I really liked this book, and it was perfect summer reading. Though I felt like maybe it was too autobiographical (which I guess only the main character was), I really liked Cannie and the plot was not as predictable as it could have been. It's great for a first novel, and I think Jennifer Weiner gets even better in In Her Shoes.

A very good read, though not as good as Little Earthquakes, I thought. Not too surprising since this is Weiner's first book. Still, interesting characters and a nice, if improbable, plot. Perfect summer reading.
