This book seemed to take a long time to read, which is my only complaint about it (however, I seem to recall it taking a long time to read the other two as well, so it was somewhat expected).
I was very grateful for the synopsis of the first two volumes in the series at the beginning, although I might have remembered most of the details, but since the action in the books is fairly continuous, it helped the story feel like it was taking off from the same place instead of two years after I read El ...more

Okay, I just need to get one thing off my chest, and then I'll actually review the book.
CP -- just because you've memorized Lord of the Rings does NOT make you an expert in fantasy writing or dialog, nor does it make you the next Tolkien. Second, stop playing so much World Of Warcraft, or whatever stupid elf online game that is. Finally, it's painfully obvious which books you're reading when you're writing certain passages. Make it your own.

I don't know if it was because I listened to this rather than reading it, or because it had been so long since I read the second book in the series, but I just did not enjoy this book. Honestly though, I think even if I had read it I would have been annoyed by it. It was just so incredibly long! And it wasn't long because it needed to be to fit in all the action; it was long with a lot of really unnecessary descriptive detail. This is the third book in a series (it was supposed to be the third o

Um, WTF? Approximately 7/8ths off the way through, I realized there was no way that the trilogy could wrap itself up satisfactorily in the remaining pages. I was right: the third book in the Inheritance trilogy is not the last! Oh haha! Mr. Paolini just had too darn much to say to fit it in three books - he needed four. Except the fourth isn't written yet and no one knows when it's coming out! Yay! Hopefully I'll forget all about it and not care that I don't know how the story turns out. Ugh.

I decided to re-read The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini and I was pleased by how much I enjoyed it. I liked it more this time than I did the first time because I was able to skip some of the slower bits since I had read it before. I thoroughly enjoy the characters and I like how detailed a world Christopher Paolini has built but the story does definitely drag at points. I still loathe the way the series ends though.

Another solid installment in Paolini's series. While his prose is not perfect, the story makes up for his rough spots, and is well worth the read. I was interested in the correlations he added between the Dragonheart movies and the dragons of his series, and look forward to the next and final book of the series.

i wanted to dislike the main character, who seems to be the kind of ideal character a teenager might write for himself, but i was too busy being entertained. not a favorite, but a fun read. yknow, if you're into that sort of thing.

Waited a long time for this third book in the trilogy. I'm listening to the story because they have an excellent reader doing it. I listened to the first two also.
