The writing style made it a struggle for me to get into the story which was surprising because the premise made me think it would be a great read. There was an overuse of comparisons in the first several chapters…like enough already, not every action or movement needs to be compared to something. However the book picked up towards the middle, she seemed to drop the use of similes. I bought this because it was described as "the next Gone Girl." I wouldn't rate it as high as all that, but I did enjoy the the description of NY life and the complexity of TifAny's character. I was compelled to find out what had happened and what would happen. The turn the plot took was more disturbing than Gone Girl... a bit much for my taste.

WOW. Just WOW. Fans of Gone Girl will LOVE the twists in this book! I would have finished it sooner if my body didn't physically ache for sleep and I didn't have to work. I literally DREAMT about reading this book.
